The LWVKA Board Voted to Support the Kalamazoo County Veterans Millage Proposal on the November Ballot.

September 29, 2023

The LWVKA supports the .1 mil proposal for the Kalamazoo County Veterans Service Office.

Kalamazoo County is home to 12,962 veterans, and county-level services are needed. Staffing  in the Kalamazoo County office is less than in similar communities like Ingham and Washtenaw Counties serving comparable numbers of veterans.

The League of Women Voters of Kalamazoo Area supports public services delivery systems like the Kalamazoo County Veterans Service Office which are in the best interests of the community as a whole and have funding mechanisms that are adequate, equitable and stable.
