Environmental Justice and Housing in Kalamazoo County – Virtual Forum

June 14, 2022

The League of Women Voters of Kalamazoo Area (LWVKA) and its co-sponsor, Kalamazoo Climate Crisis Coalition (KCCC) community forum – Thursday, April 21st includes a panel discussion on the quality of housing stock in Kalamazoo with an emphasis on factors related to environmental justice: Location of housing (effects of pollution or flooding), support services (access to transportation and food), equity of cost for housing and utilities, and energy efficiency. The panel will include Mary Balkema, a county commissioner, a developer, and a couple of housing activists from our community. The moderator will be a member of KCCC and/or LWVKA.
