Patriot Act Resolution Passes
The City of Kalamazoo has now joined nearly 200 other communities in expressing concern about federal actions which threaten our civil rights. |
After seven months of urging, the Kalamazoo City Commission passed a resolution in support of civil liberties. The resolution, affirming the multi-cultural nature of the community, committed the City to define and protect civil liberties threatened by the Patriot Act and other administrative actions of the federal government. LWVKA was a founding member of the Task Force for the Defense of the Bill of Rights along with the ACLU, NAACP and ADA (American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee).
